When you use the contact form on this website you will be asked to give:

- details about your project
This information is used for the sole purpose of responding to your enquiry.
Further personal data may include, but is not limited to:
- contact information (title, address, email, telephone)
- billing information (if different from above)
- a sample text and relevant documents/files for the work to be competed (if available)
- feedback or any other relevant communication (e.g. invoicing).
I use the information that you have given me to:
- contact you in response to your enquiry, order, quote, offer or booking
- record your agreement to the terms and conditions of my services
- issue invoices and maintain my accounting records as required by my tax authority
What do I do with your data?
- All of the personal data I hold about you will be processed by myself. I do not share your data with anyone other than the relevant authorities for tax purposes.
- All editing and proofreading projects are carried out solely by me, so your information will not be shared with external contractors.
- I may, in the future, wish to upgrade my membership of the Chartered Institute of Editors and Proofreaders (The CIEP). In this instance I need to demonstrate my experience and professional development and may share details of projects I have worked on. These details can include project title, wordcount and type of project but I would not include contact details unless this was specifically agreed with you. - Any testimonials I use on my website or social media pages (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter) will be agreed with you in advance and may include name or company/organisation.
- I may use Google Analyticsto track traffic volume to my website and see what search terms are being used.
- I may use cookies on my website that track visitor information. You can choose not to allow my website to store cookies on your device.
- I will never lease, distribute, sell or trade your personal information to any third-party companies for any reason.
- Your data will never be used for marketing purposes without your permission.
How do I store your information and for how long?
- I will take all reasonable steps to ensure that your personal data is protected.
- All project files and related data are stored in a computer hard drive.
- Files are regularly backed up to an external hard drive.
- Contact details are stored in the same computer hard drive mentioned above.
- Email addresses used in correspondence are automatically saved in my email account address book.
- Cloud storage facilities may be used to share files only if agreed in advance (e.g. WeTransfer, Google Drive, DropBox).
- As I may work with clients repeatedly, I keep personal contact information and a summary of previous project information on file unless I am requested to delete it.
- All devices used for my work are password protected and are not used by any other person. All software is licensed and valid.
- I will keep all your data for a minimum of 5 years to comply with tax authorities.
Your rights
- You have the right to ask to see any personal data I hold about you.
- If you believe any data I hold is incorrect, please email me at [email protected], so I can correct it.
- You can ask that I delete any personal data, providing it is no longer necessary by law.
